Revision as of 14:36, 21 March 2013

On 1-April-2013, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island are changing how they are collecting sales tax. On that date, British Columbia will exit the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), and Prince Edward Island will replace its Provincial Sales Tax (PST) with HST. These changes will require corresponding changes to Canadian FTD Mercury and Mercury Connect systems. Once you have consulted Canadian taxing authorities to determine the correct tax rates, be sure you check the following for accuracy in FTD Mercury or Mercury Connect:

  • Make sure appropriate tax codes are set up correctly in the Tax Code screen in Mercury Administration.
  • Ensure the store default is set correctly in the Store Settings screen in Mercury Administration.
  • Update delivery zones that have overriding tax codes in the Delivery Zone screen in Mercury Administration.
  • Update products that have overriding tax codes.
  • Update any Standing Orders for delivery to Prince Edward Island or British Columbia.
