The Cancel message allows you to request that a filling Member or the Host Computer cancel a previously sent order. If the Cancel message is sent before the order is processed by the Host Computer, the Host will cancel the order (not transmit to the filling florist) and send you a confirmation of the cancellation. However, if the Cancel message reaches the Host after the order has been processed and sent to the filling Member, the filling Member can either confirm or deny a cancellation.

To cancel an order:

  1. On the Mercury Direct Main Menu, click Cancel an Order. The Cancel an Order screen opens.
  2. Click the magnifying glass icon next to the Order Number field. The Message Search window opens.
  3. By default Message Search will list all incoming and outgoing orders if you click Search. If necessary, narrow your search, and then click the Search button.
  4. When you locate the order that you would like to cancel, highlight the order and then click Select. The Cancel an Order screen will reappear with most of the information completed for you.
  5. From the Reason Type list, select your reason for sending this message.
  6. In the Reason or Note Text field, add notes as needed.
  7. In the Operator field, enter your name.
  8. Click Submit to send the message during the next Mercury Direct communications session. If you want to send the message immediately, on the Mercury Direct Main Menu, click Transmit Now.
