IMPORTANT: Before downloading the Symantec Endpoint Protection installer, ensure all programs other than your Web browser are closed, including FTD Mercury and Mercury Direct.

NOTE: If you are using FTD Mercury, install on your server first.

To install Symantec Endpoint Protection:

  1. Click on the installer file link: FTDSEP11.exe.
  2. When you are asked if you want to run or save the file, click Run.
  3. If you receive a security warning that the publisher could not be verified, click Run. The installer starts extracting files.
  4. Once the extraction has finished, you receive a message that Symantec Endpoint Protections will be installed. Click OK.
  5. Symantec Endpoint Protection will be installed. The installation takes approximately five minutes. Do not stop the installation, launch other programs, or turn off the computer during the installation.
  6. When you receive a message that the installation was completed successfully, click OK to reboot. Once the computer has finished rebooting, your system is running the most recent version of antivirus software.

If you have any client computers, repeat this process on them.
