Enabling Dashboard

Before you can use the Dashboard, you must enable it in Mercury Administration. This allows all terminals to access Dashboard if configured to do so.

Enabling Dashboard in Mercury Administration
To enable the FTD Mercury Dashboard in Mercury Administration:
- In Mercury Administration, double-click on the System Folder icon.
- Double-click on the Advanced Settings icon. The Advanced Settings screen opens.
- Select the Monitor Dashboard Events box.
- In the Events Polling Interval field, enter the number of minutes you want the Dashboard to wait before it refreshes. This can be from 1 to 15 minutes, although FTD recommends you leave this setting at its default 1 minute interval.
- In the Unattached Mercury Order Alert, set the number of minutes an unattached order can remain in your system prior to the Mercury Messages button begins to pulse. FTD recommends you leave this at the default 60 minutes. (This setting is designed to assist you in handling inbound orders in a timely manner, especially since these orders are subject to Delayed Response Program rules).
- Click Apply to save your changes before exiting this screen.
Configuring Terminals to Display the Dashboard
Once you have enabled Dashboard in Mercury Administration, it will be available at all FTD Mercury terminals. You must set each terminal you want to access the Dashboard from to display the Dashboard.
To configure a terminal to display the Dashboard:
- In FTD Mercury, from the Tools menu, click Settings. The FTD Mercury Configuration Window opens.
- Select the Display Dashboard box.
- Click Save.
Opening Dashboard
If you have configured FTD Mercury to display the Dashboard, the Dashboard is automatically launched when you log into FTD Mercury. The logged-in employee’s credentials are used for Dashboard, determining the rights the user has with Dashboard. The currently logged in user for Dashboard is displayed in the Dashboard’s title bar. When drilling down into areas that require attention, credentials from the Dashboard are used for searches (for example, if an employee does not have rights to access Ticket Search and click’s on the C.O.D. button, they will receive a message in FTD Mercury that they do not have rights to open the window).
If Dashboard is launched when FTD Mercury is not running, (by double-clicking the Mercury Dashboard icon on the desktop), you will be prompted to enter your employee name and password in the login window.
If FTD Mercury is closed while the Dashboard is still running, the user rights for Dashboard are removed.
You can also minimize the Dashboard to the Windows Taskbar by clicking the Minimize button on the Dashboard title bar (at the top of the window). If the Dashboard is minimized, it will flash if there is a change in status after it refreshes.
Events That Cause Dashboard to Flash when Minimized
When Dashboard is minimized in the Windows Taskbar, most events will cause the Dashboard to flash if there is a change in status after it refreshes. The following table shows you which events do and do not cause a flash when the Dashboard is minimized:
