Contents

The Picture Center window is the interface for selecting or taking pictures to attach to local products. You also use the Picture Center window to select or take pictures to attach to tickets and to send the pictures that are attached to tickets. When attaching a picture to a ticket, the Picture Center contains options for design and recipient pictures. You also use the Picture Center to view pictures attached to products or tickets. When viewing pictures in the Picture Center, some Picture Center controls may be disabled.

The Picture Center window contains the following areas:

Ticket or Product

The ticket number to which you are attaching pictures appears below the Picture Center window title bar. When the Picture Center window is opened from the Product Entry screen, the name of the product appears below the Picture Center window title bar.

Attach Pictures

Attach Pictures controls enable you to select a picture, take a picture, and attach a picture. If you are attaching a picture to a ticket, you can select whether to attach a design picture or a recipient picture.

Setting Description
Design/Recipient When attaching a picture to a ticket, select Design or Recipient to indicate the type of picture. The file name for the picture will contain Design or Recipient so that you can quickly identify the type of picture.
Browse Use Browse to search for and select pictures saved on your computer. When you select a picture, it will appear in the image area of the Picture Center window.
Camera View/Take Picture Use Camera View to open the Logitech QuickCam menu. When you click Camera View and a camera is attached, the Camera View button will change to Take Picture, allowing you to take a picture.
NOTE: You must have a camera installed to use Camera View. If you click Camera View without having a camera installed, you will receive an error message.
Click Change Settings on the Logitech QuickCam tool bar to open the Webcam Settings dialog box where you can control the camera’s zoom, pan, and tilt.
When you click Take Picture, the picture appears in the image area, and the Logitech QuickCam menu closes.
Attach Use Attach to save the picture to the product or ticket. The Attached Pictures area of the Picture Center window shows the picture file name.

Attached Pictures

Attached Pictures shows information about the pictures attached to a product or ticket. For pictures attached to products, Attached Pictures shows the file name of the picture. For pictures attached to tickets, Attached Pictures also includes details about sending the picture.

Field Description
Picture File For pictures attached to tickets, Picture File indicates if the picture is a Design or Recipient picture.
Sent For pictures attached to tickets, Sent tells you whether the picture has been sent. Yes indicates that the picture has been sent. No indicates that the picture has not been sent.
File Path File Path shows the name of the file as stored by the Picture Center on your computer. The file path of pictures attached to products includes the product name and a system generated number. The file path of pictures attached to tickets includes the ticket number.
Pictures are saved on your computer’s C: drive in the FTD Album folder. Pictures attached to products are saved in a Products folder in the FTD Album folder.
URL For pictures attached to tickets that you have sent, URL shows the path to the picture on the FTD web server. You can click the URL to display the picture stored on the FTD web server.

Remove

Remove unattached the picture from the product or ticket to which it was attached. When you remove a picture, the image area of the Picture Center is blank. The picture file remains in the C:FTD Album folder on your computer. If the picture has been uploaded to the FTD web server, clicking Remove also removes it from the FTD web server.

Send

Send uploads the picture to the FTD web server and sends a Mercury ASK message or opens the Output Options window, depending on the type of ticket to which the picture is attached. When sending is complete, the Sent field in the Attached Pictures area will show Yes, and the URL field will contain the path to the picture on the FTD web server.
