SEVERE WEATHER ALERT - 5 February 2010
A severe winter storm is expected throughout the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic coast including, but not limited to, Ohio, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, in the United States today and Saturday.
If you are impacted by the storm and closing your shop it is very important to fellow florists, customers, and FTD that you SUSPEND your Mercury system. By doing so, orders will not back-up in Mercury and will be sent to another florist that is open to accept and handle orders.
For detailed instructions about how to suspend your Mercury system, please go to www.ftdi.com/mercurytechnology/suspend.htm.
When suspending, please allow your Mercury system one hour to clear orders. For example, a shop should suspend their system at 4pm if their shop closes at 5pm. In addition, please remember to check your system for any pending orders.
It is also important that your review the FTD Delayed Response Program guidelines at www.ftdi.com/quality. If you don’t suspend your Mercury system, you will be impacted by the fees associated with the program.
Remember... Florists Online (FOL) and Flowers All Hours (FAH) orders override a Mercury suspension and a florist must send a Mercury Message to FOL - 90-8418AA and to FAH - 90-9200AA to make sure that their FOL Web site is also suspended and that the FAH database is also updated that your shop will be closed.
SENDING FLORISTS: When sending an order to any area that might be affected by the severe weather, please allow the filling florist with as much of a delivery window as possible. In addition, please set your customers' expectations based on the uncontrollable weather circumstances.
If you have additional questions, please call FTD Mercury Support at 888-309-2244.
