Automatic Installation Instructions

Attempt this procedure first. If it does not work, follow the Manual Installation Instructions

To install the Directory Update for your Mercury Direct system:

  1. Insert this CD into the computer. The Mercury Direct Update and Florist Directory Updates begin automatically.
  2. If the update detects you are running non-approved antivirus software, you are asked if you want to upgrade to the FTD-approved software. If you select Yes, you will need to uninstall your current antivirus software. Follow the steps below to do so:
    1. Click OK at the prompt and eject the CD.
    2. Click the Windows Start button, and click Control Panel.
    3. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    4. From the list of installed programs, locate your existing antivirus software and click Remove.
    5. Follow the uninstallation prompts.
    6. If necessary, reboot the computer.
    7. Return to Step 1 above.
  3. If prompted to close the dialer, click OK.
  4. The installation runs and update the Florist Directory, and optionally installs an FTD-approved version of Norton AntiVirus.
  5. After the update has run, you are informed the installation is successful. You may be prompted to reboot your computer. Click OK to complete the installation.
  6. Reboot the computer.
  7. Download the latest Florist Directory update from the Internet. To do this, double-click the MTSUA icon in the lower right corner of your Windows desktop. Then click the Check for Updates button.

Manual Installation Instructions

Only follow these instructions if the Automatic Installation Instructions did not work.

  1. Exit the Mercury Direct client. To do this, on the File menu, click Quit.
  2. Insert this CD into your computer.
  3. In the Mercury Direct Control Panel, on the Edit menu, click Options.
  4. Click the Directory tab.
  5. Highlight FTD, then click Settings.
  6. Make sure that Directory Available is checked.
  7. You may either install the directory on your hard drive (recommended - requires 380 MB of free space), or you can run the directory from the CD. To install the directory on the hard drive, select On Hard Drive, and then click Update. To run the directory from your CD drive, select On Compact Disk, and then click Save.
  8. At "Do you wish to continue?", close all running programs, and then click Yes.
  9. If you selected to install the directory on your hard drive, the message "Copying of florist directory from cd was successful" will display when the installation is complete. Click OK.
  10. Download the latest Florist Directory update from the Internet. To do this, double-click the MTSUA icon in the lower right corner of your Windows desktop. Then click the Check for Updates button.
