FTD Mercury Server Instructions

This procedure should be run only on your FTD Mercury server.

To install the FTD Florist Directory on your FTD Mercury server:

  1. Close all running programs, including FTD Mercury.
  2. To shut down the server properly, perform an FTD Shutdown. To do so, click the Windows Start button, point to All Programs, point to FTD Software, and click FTDShutdown.
  3. Insert the Directory CD into the CD drive of the server.
  4. Click the Windows Start button, point to All Programs, point to FTD Software, and click Mercury Administration (or Server Config).
  5. Log on using admin as the login name and your admin password. Click Login.
  6. When Mercury Administration opens, double-click the Wire Service folder.
  7. Double-click the Wire Services icon.
  8. When the Wire Services screen opens, make sure FTD is selected in the Wire Service box, and then click Update Directory. This will load the FTD Directory Update. A command prompt window will open during the update and will close when the update completes, revealing the Wire Services screen again.
  9. When the update is complete (and the command prompt window has closed), FTD Mercury will automatically perform an FTD Startup.
  10. Close Mercury Administration by clicking the "X" at the top right of the window. Remove this CD from the drive.
  11. (Does not apply to Mercury Wings) Download the latest Florist Directory update from the Internet. To do do this, double-click the MTSUA icon in the lower right corner of your Windows desktop to the left of the clock. (If the MTSUA icon does not appear, click the Windows Start button, point to All Programs, then to FTD Software, and click MTSUA. You can then double-click the icon in the lower right corner of the desktop.) Then click Check for Updates. (For more information, see the FTD Mercury Reference Guide.)
  12. Double-click the FTD Mercury icon on your desktop and log in to FTD Mercury.
