If you want to send text messages to your customers, including text message marketing, delivery confirmation text messages, and ad hoc text messages, the Text Message screen allows you on a per-store basis to configure account information and defaults.

Accessing the Text Message Screen

To access the Text Message screen in Mercury Administration:

  1. Launch Mercury Administration.
  2. Double-click Mercury Administration in the explorer pane.
  3. Double-click the Communications folder.
  4. Double-click Text Message. The Text Message screen opens.

Configuring Text Message Settings

To configure text message settings for FTD Mercury:

  1. In Mercury Administration, access the Text Message screen.
  2. From the Store Name list, select the store for which you are configuring settings.
  3. In the Account Information section:
    1. In the Property ID field, enter the Property ID provided by the Mercury Technology Assistance Center.
    2. In the User Name field, enter the user name provided by the Mercury Technology Assistance Center.
    3. In the Password field, enter your text message password.
    4. In the Confirm Password field, confirm your text message password.
  4. In the Sender Name To Display field, enter the sender name you want to display in text messages. This should be some form of your store name so recipients can identify you.
  5. In the Personal Text field, enter the default personal text to be included in messages.
  6. Click Apply to save changes before you exit this screen.

Text Messages Screen Settings

Configurable settings in the Text Messages screen are grouped into the following areas:

Store Name

Select the store for which you are configuring email settings.

Account Information

Your account information is from your Skywire account and will typically be configured by someone at FTD. The following fields must be configured:

  • Property ID
  • User Name
  • Password
  • Confirm Password

Sender Name To Display

This is the name displayed in the text message indicating who sent it. This should be an identifiable, yet short, name for your shop. The length of this affects the number of characters available in the Personal Text field.

Default Delivery Confirmation Message

This is the default delivery confirmation message. It is read only.

Personal Text

Personalized text entered in this field will be appended to the delivery confirmation text message when it is sent from your store. The field displays the number of characters remaining for personalization.
