If a florist sends you an order and the price on the order is not sufficient, you can request a price change. A price change requires that you send either a Price Change or Ask (ASK) message to the sending florist. In order for the price change to be official, the sending florist must then reply with an Answer (ANS) message with the NEW price to confirm the price change.

To send a price change request:

  1. On the Mercury Direct Main Menu, click Price Change. The Price Change screen opens.
  2. Click the magnifying glass icon next to the Order Number field. The Message Search window opens.
  3. In the Message Search window, click Search to list all incoming and outgoing orders.
  4. When you locate the order you are inquiring about, highlight the order in the list and then click Select. The Price Change screen will reappear with most of the information completed for you.
  5. From the Reason Type list, select the reason for sending this message.
  6. In the Reason or Note Text field, enter notes as needed.
  7. In the New Price field, enter the new price you are requesting.
  8. In the Operator field, enter your name.
  9. Click Submit to send the message during the next Mercury Direct Communications session.
