FTD Mercury Server Instructions

IMPORTANT: This procedure should be run only on your FTD Mercury server.

To install the FTD Florist Directory on your FTD Mercury server:

  1. Close all running programs, including FTD Mercury.
  2. To shut down the server properly, perform an FTD Shutdown. To do so, click the Windows Start button, point to All Programs, point to FTD Software, and click FTDShutdown.
  3. Insert the Directory CD into the CD drive of the server.
  4. Click the Windows Start button, point to All Programs, point to FTD Software, and click Mercury Administration (or Server Config).
  5. Log on using admin as the login name and your admin password. Click Login.
  6. When Mercury Administration opens, double-click the Wire Service folder.
  7. Double-click the Wire Services icon.
  8. When the Wire Services screen opens, make sure FTD is selected in the Wire Service box, and then click Update Directory. This will load the FTD Directory Update. A command prompt window will open during the update and will close when the update completes, revealing the Wire Services screen again.
  9. When the update is complete (and the command prompt window has closed), FTD Mercury will automatically perform an FTD Startup.
  10. Close Mercury Administration by clicking the "X" at the top right of the window. Remove this CD from the drive.

FTD Mercury Client Instructions

Follow this procedure on each of your FTD Mercury Client computers after you have installed the Florist Directory CD on the FTD Mercury Server. Installing the update on your client computers installs the product and banner ad images (banner ad images are installed if you are running FTD Mercury 7.0 or later).

To install the FTD Mercury Directory Update on your client computers:

  1. Close all running programs, including FTD Mercury.
  2. Insert this CD into the CD drive of the client computer. The installation begins automatically. If the installation does not start automatically, click the Windows Start button and click Run. Type d:\autocheck.exe (where d is your CD drive letter) and click OK.
  3. When the installation completes, you receive the message "Image Files Copied Successfully." Click OK.
  4. Remove this CD from your drive. Your client is ready to use.

Repeat this procedure for all of your FTD Mercury client computers.
