The Deny message allows you to refuse to accept a request to cancel an order. When this message is sent in response to a Cancel Message, the order in question is reported to the appropriate Clearing House. If a Confirm Message is sent after a Deny message for the same order, the Confirm message overrides the Deny message.
To create a Deny message:
- On the Mercury Direct Main Menu, click Deny a Cancellation. The Deny a Cancellation screen opens.
- Click the magnifying glass icon next to the Order Number field. The Message Search window opens.
- In the Message Search window, locate the CAN message that you are denying. To do this, you can select a message type of CAN and then click the Search button.
- When you locate the CAN message that you would like to deny, highlight the CAN message and then click Select. The Deny a Cancellation screen will reappear with most of the information completed for you.
- In the Reason or Note Text field, add notes as needed.
- In the Operator field, enter your name.
- Click Submit to send the message during the next Mercury Direct communications session. If you want to send the message immediately, on the Mercury Direct Main Menu, click Transmit Now.
