If a florist sends you an order and the price on the order is not sufficient, you can request a price change. A price change requires that you send either a Price Change or Ask (ASK) message to the sending florist. In order for the price change to be official, the sending florist must then reply with an Answer (ANS) message with the NEW price to confirm the price change.

  1. From the Mercury Direct main menu click Price Change. OR From the menu bar, click Order, then click Price Change (ASK).
  2. Click the magnifying glass icon in the Order Number field to access a Message Search.
  3. In the Message Search window, click Search to list all incoming and outgoing orders. (See “Message Search” on page 55 for more information on Message Search.)
  4. When you locate the order you are inquiring about, highlight the order in the list and then click Select. The Price Change message will reappear with most of the information completed for you.
  5. In the Reason Type field, click the down arrow and select your reason for sending this message.
  6. Add notes as needed in the Reason or Note Text field.
  7. Type the new price in the New Price field. This is the new price that you are requesting.
  8. Type your name in the Operator field.
  9. Click Submit to send the message during the next Mercury Direct Communications session. If you would like to send the message immediately, click Submit, then click the Transmit Now button in the main menu.
