Advantage Linux Instructions

To install the Florist Directory Update on your Mercury Advantage for Linux system:

  1. From the main menu, select 12 Administration, 4 System Administration, 3 Updates & Maintenance, 2 Advantage Software Updates.
  2. Type 2 and press Enter.
  3. Insert the CD and press Enter. Software updates are installed.
  4. When prompted to eject the CD, press Enter. Do not remove the CD; close the CD drawer. The CD is needed for later updates.
  5. Press 1 Florist Directory Updates.
  6. When prompted for the CD, the CD is already in the drive. Press Enter. The update may take up to 15 minutes to complete.
  7. At Processing Complete, press Enter. If asked to eject the CD, press Enter again. The CD ejects.
  8. If you have an Internet connection, download the latest directory updates from the Internet. To do this, from the main menu, select 12 Administration, 4 System Administration, 3 Updates & Maintenance, 1 Florist Directory Updates. Then select 3 Florist Update from the Internet. (For more information, see "Updating the Directory from the Internet" in the System Administration chapter of your Mercury Advantage Operator's Manual.)

Advantage Solaris Instructions

To install the Florist Directory Update on your Mercury Advantage for Solaris system:

  1. F10 out of all programs to a login prompt.
  2. Type ftdadm at Login, then press Enter.
  3. Bold text Type sysadm1 at Password, then press Enter.
  4. From the FTD Administrator Menu, highlight Maintain and press Enter.
  5. Highlight Install and press Enter.
  6. When prompted for a password, type acct1 and press Enter.
  7. Insert the CD-ROM in the CD drive. Select 2 CD-ROM and press Enter. Press Enter again if prompted after inserting the CD.
  8. When prompted for the password, type sysadm1 and press Enter.
  9. When the update finishes, press Enter. If asked to eject the CD, press Enter again. The CD ejects. Do not remove the CD; just close the CD drawer again. The CD is needed for later updates.
  10. Highlight Directory and press Enter.
  11. When prompted for a password, type acct1 and press Enter.
  12. Select 2 CD-ROM and press Enter.
  13. Wait for the light on the CD-ROM drive to stop flashing and press Enter. This may take a few seconds. The system will then display messages when copying files. This may take a few minutes. Press Enter when prompted.
  14. When prompted for a password, type sysadm1 and press Enter.
  15. When the process is complete, follow the prompt on screen to continue. The CD will automatically eject from the CD drive.
  16. Press Enter to return to the Advantage Maintenance Menu.
  17. Press F6 to return to the System Administration Menu.
  18. Press F8 to return to an Advantage Login.
